Very unique piece, this cheese board can double as a cutting board as well. Made from one solid piece of olive wood. Durable, and will last generations. This kitchen board/cheese board is made from olive wood at least 200 years old. Finished with a natural mineral oil, and safe for kitchen use.

The overall shape of this board came about from the original shape of the actual piece of olive wood. You can see the way the grain runs from the handle, through the larger part of the design. In the original piece, the handle area was a part of the burl ball that was protruding above the soil like the beginnings of a branch. The rest of the original piece was a larger burl ball mostly under the soil, attached to the top of the roots

Olive wood harvested from local Sicilian trees. No trees were cut down for production, rather this wood comes from trees which died in fires or from natural causes. The wood is obtained from friends in the forestry service.
