A uniquely beautiful piece of Olive Wood. This board has a perfect finish, smooth, and is as hard as steel, this cutting board will last generations. Great for presentation, and it will be a conversation piece. This cutting board is made from olive wood burl at least 200 years old. This design is 100% olive wood, and is includes a thick piece of Wenge wood, inlaid into the top surface. The purpose of the Wenge insert is to provide strength to the larger piece of olive wood. Finished with a natural mineral oil, and safe for kitchen use.

Olive wood harvested from local Sicilian trees. This piece came from trees north of the village of Castelbuono. No trees were cut down for production, rather this wood comes from trees which died in fires or from natural causes. The wood is obtained from friends in the forestry service.
