Our smallest keepsake box. In Italian, the Ladybug. The inspiration for this design came from a First Communion we were invited to, for our dear friends in the village of Polizzi Generosa. We struggled over what gift to buy, always coming back to a Rosary. Knowing the little girl would receive many of them, we decided to make her a place to put them, in it's own keepsake box.

The ceramic tops for the Coccinella boxes are small tiles made from terra cotta, hand made in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicilia. Sig. Intravartolo found the perfect artisan, who then created the various ceramic designs you see below.

The base of each Coccinella is a Mahogany piece, with a perfectly round hold bored into it's center, large enough to safely store your rosary, or other valuables.

This design makes a lovely pill box, a safe place to keep rings or earrings, or any other small, but precious items.
